When for the first time wine production mushroomed under the Roman Empire, since then Croatian vineyards came into notice. As the Croatians started settling and taking on the knowledge that was passed down to them straight from their ancestors, the production got multiplied by a significant margin. In spite of the fact that, a good number of the vineyards were damaged while the Croatian War of Independence took place in the 1990’s, the wine production has of late regained the past glory quite successfully.

One of the most popular white wines found in Croatia also known as Pošip is a quite dry white wine that is produced right from the Pošip grape that is only found on the KorAula Island. Pošip is a totally flavoured wine that is best served with the comparatively lighter food items, such as the fish, the prawns or the lobsters.
